Interdepartmental Programme of Postgraduate Studies “Art and the Public Sphere”

The Interdepartmental Programme of Postgraduate Studies “Art and the Public Sphere” was established in 2018 based on the fruitful collaboration between the School of Fine and Applied Arts and the School of Political Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Its aim is to address the gap in higher education in Greece, concerning artistic and scientific research in the field of art as it develops in the public sphere, particularly within the context of social framing and political dimensions of artistic practices.

The programme offers a wide range of high-level courses that adapt to contemporary needs and challenges. The objective is for students of the postgraduate programme to be equipped with the necessary knowledge, tools, and skills to conduct independent and original research and to engage in artistic, scientific, and professional activities in the broader field of art and the public sphere.

The website of the IPPS “Art and Public Sphere” aims to provide detailed information regarding enrollment, the curriculum, course structure, benefits, the teaching staff of the programme, and other useful information. In this way, the website facilitates the proper utilization of the opportunities available to students during their studies.

The Interdepartmental Programme of Postgraduate Studies “Art and Public Sphere” aspires to create a vibrant and productive community with an open-minded and collaborative spirit, contributing to the development of knowledge and creativity.
